Critterdex is a wildlife photo-journal and collection game. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your responsibilities when you upload photos.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: email address and the display name you choose.
• Photos you upload to identify animals and build your journal.
• Location data only when you allow it, to help identify native species and show nearby finds.
• Basic app usage data used to award XP, badges, streaks, and rank you on friend leaderboards.

2. How we use your information

• Identify species from your photos using AI.
• Build your personal critter journal and collection.
• Show you friends you may know and power friend leaderboards.
• Keep your account secure and improve the app.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. Your photos are only shared with other users when you choose to send them. Your display name and collection stats may appear on leaderboards shared with your friends.

4. Your choices

• You can delete any animal photo from your journal at any time.
• You can disable location access in your device settings.
• You can request account deletion by contacting us.

5. Photo and content rules

Only upload photos you have taken yourself. Uploading images from the internet, stock libraries, or that belong to someone else violates our rules and can result in your account being suspended or banned.

6. Children

Critterdex is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without consent, contact us to have it removed.
